How it all began

We have worked together and been married for over 30 years. After being made redundant from our last Jobs we decided it was time to work for ourselves. Although unsure how to go about starting a balloon biz during the recession, we had some training & decided upon a catchy name “Inflate 2 Create” We Inflate Balloons to Create colourful decor for all occasions.

 

INFLATE 2 CREATE

On the 9th Feb 2009 Our biz was born and we ventured into the big wide world of balloons.

We joined the Ferderation of small businesses & won best stand at their Business exhibition in Croydon.

I contacted our local paper to see if they were interested in our story as a start up in difficult times and they were.

We have had a lot of fun over the past 12 years, met some lovely suppliers, setup lots of colourful weddings, birthdays and special occasions & worked at some lovely venues.

Our passion hasn’t changed but our business has increased from a balloon comany to full venue styling. Our first wedding with Chair covers was for my cousin Natalie, we loved setting the ceremony room for her and from their everything just got bigger.

In 2016 we won the Guides for Brides 5* Customer Service Award for finishing touches in the South East. Our proudest achievement since starting our Biz!

Meet the team

Sally is the creative mind behind Inflate 2 Create with her most recent talent of making fantasy flowers for centrepieces & card craft.
With her OCD on the day of a function Sally will not leave a room until she is happy with how everything looks even the little details like how each bow sits on the chair, is everything where it should be on the tables etc…
Sally deals with all the admin side of the business, prepping everything for the function & making sure plenty of photos are taken on the day so the customer or happy couple receive some pics of the finished room.

Chas helps with all the background work such as maintaining the van, looking after the helium & inflating the balloons so when you have a balloon exploder Chas makes it up and climbs ladders to setup lighting and lanterns as Sally doesn’t like heights. He is Sally’s go to guy and she relies on him a lot for support, help & input on planning a function.
When Sally sets up a room with chair covers Chas checks the height of the sashes, takes photos and makes sure everything is completed and kept tidy.
You will always find him chatting to everyone at the wedding fayres and he loves networking.

These 2 gorgeous girls keep us sane when we have loads of work going on, they can also be a distraction watching them play or scratching at the office door to come in, climbing over everything in site then finally wanting to lay down on the laptop to get attention, trying to play with the balloon ribbon (the list goes on). One thing they are never allowed to do is go near the linen and sashes.

They may not help in the running of the business but they help Sally & Chas just by being around on a bad or quiet day.
